Interesting South covers a wide variety of interesting, unexpected, original things. Last November we found 19 fascinating people and asked them to speak for 3 or 10 minutes about something they care about. We wanted to replicate the experience of clicking from one really good blog to another, ranging across sciences, arts, music, jokes and whatever. It was an unconference conference, a 'theatre of ideas' – very informal, with a very “open source” approach. If there was a single shared quality between speakers and participants it was curiosity. And that’s what we’re aiming for again.

There’ll be more intermissions interspersed through the event so that you'll have opportunities to chat. Last time many of the speakers and audience went off for a drink after, so we may see history repeat itself. We’re aiming to keep the ticket prices low again, as we want to encourage a diverse crowd. We’ll have this confirmed shortly. The Belvoir St Theatre feels like a great location for the next event, as it’s not huge (we liked vibe of the Bondi Pavillion) but has comfy, comfy seats.
